Oscar Reinke

Oscar Reinke, 101, of Lincoln, NE formerly of Merricourt and Ellendale, ND died April 12, 2012 at Journey House Tabitha Care Services in Lincoln, NE. Oscar was born August 14, 1910 in Merricourt, ND. He was the son of Fred Sr. and Katherina (Rabb) Reinke. He was the third of nine children. He was a member of Ellendale Seventh Day Adventist Church where he was instrumental in the building of the new church. He also served as Church Treasurer and County Assessor. Oscar married Goldie Irion on October 5, 1936 in Lodi CA. They resided on a farm near Ellendale for 35 years. After retirement, they moved into Ellendale and resided there until 2001. He was still very active in the church and enjoyed working on his son’s farm. They moved to Rapid City, SD in 2001 and then in 2006 they moved to Sioux Falls, SD into a retirement home. Family members include one daughter and son-in-law: Shirley (Leonard) Haase, Sioux Falls, SD; one son: Gary Reinke, Lincoln, NE; five grandchildren: Debra Harris (Bill), Phoenix, AZ; Pamela Willet (Richard) New York City, NY; Steven Haase (JoAnne), Sioux Falls, SD; Randy Reinke (Rebecca), Lincoln, NE; Ryan Reinke, Orlando, FL; four great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren and one brother: Marvin (Alma) Reinke, Forbes, ND. He was preceded in death by his wife Goldie; has parents, three brothers; Fred Jr., Ed and Herbert, four sisters: Ida, Edna, Delia and Elsie. The funeral is 2pm Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale with Pastor Roger Patzer officiating. Visitation is 6-8pm Friday, May 4 at Hoven Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Ellendale City Cemetery.
