Jon H Raaf

Jon Henry Raaf, 51, of Ellendale, ND died January 28, 2013 at his home in Ellendale. He was born July 20, 1961 to Henry and Helen (Rebel) Raaf in Dickinson, ND. At an early age he started travelling with his family. They moved many times and settled in Truth or Consequences, NM for a while where Jon graduated from Hot Springs high school in 1980. Later in 1980, Jon and his father moved to Hebron, ND and then to Ellendale, ND in 1984. Jon worked at Trinity Bible College. He also did repairs on lawn mowers, cars and home plumbing. Jon met many people in Ellendale and established many long-term friends. In 2010 Jon’s health turned and he was forced to make the decision to amputate one foot and later the other. In 2011 he was able to move into a house in Ellendale where he resided until his death. Jon’s many friends were of great help driving him to clinics, hospitals and many shopping trips. Jon is survived by his brother: Roger (Cheryl) Raaf of Fargo, ND and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Orion Raff and one sister, Charlotte Rose De Brie. A memorial service is 11:00am Saturday, February 9, 2013 with Pastor David Jones officiating at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale.
