Edwin Schneider

Edwin Schneider, 82, of Forbes, ND was born March 16, 1926, to John and Mary (Brandenburger) Schneider at his home in Spring Valley Township, near Ashley, ND. He was educated at Hillsdale School #4 in Spring Valley Township near Forbes and was baptized at the Congregational Church in Merricourt, ND. On Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1949, Edwin was united in marriage to Ella Nora Reule at the Salem Congregational Church on the McIntosh-Dickey county line. Edwin was a farmer all his life. He started farming in the Coldwater District until 1962. He then moved to Grand Valley Township in Dickey County in 1962 where he resided until his death. Edwin died January 13, 2009, at his home on the farm near Forbes, ND. Edwin loved to tinker on his John Deere model A’s B’s, his Model A Coupe, going to auction sales looking for good buys, caring for and making hay for his herd of cattle. Grateful to have shared in his life is his wife: Ella Nora Schneider of Forbes, ND; his mother: Mary Schneider of Ashley, ND; one daughter: Lois Marie Schneider and special friend Jim of Blaine, MN; one son: Llewellyn Edwin (Susan) Schneider of Ashley, ND; three grandchildren: Jennifer (Steve) Boehm of Castle Rock CO, Spencer Schneider of Wahpeton, ND, Luke Schneider of Ashley, ND; one sister: Shirley (LeRoy) Fleming; one brother: Earl (Gladys) Schneider and neice Robyn (Joshua) Schock. Edwin was preceded in death by his father John Schneider and one infant brother. The funeral service is 11am Saturday at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale, ND.
