Betty L Carlson

Betty L Carlson, 80, of Monango, ND died June 1, 2015 at her home in Monango, ND. She was born July 12, 1934, to Otto & Pauline (Gall) Geiszler. She was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Monango. She attended school in Monango graduating in 1952. On January 1, 1953 Betty married Walter Rithmiller. They farmed together until Walter’s death. Betty was employed at the Triple R Bar in Monango. In 1990 Betty married Herbert Carlson and they resided east of Monango on the farm. Later they moved into Monango. They resided there until Herbert’s death in 2012. Betty continued to reside at her home in Monango. Betty was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Monango. She enjoyed her pets, flowers, gardening and bowling. She was a member of several bowling leagues earning many trophies through the years. She is survived by her dog Sophie and her cat Rusty, her son: Walter Rithmiller of Ellendale, ND; one granddaughter: Katie Vetsch, Aberdeen, SD; one brother: Larry (Vicki) Geiszler, Idaho; one sister Mary Ann Hill, Centerline, MI. She was preceded in death by both husbands and two brothers: Loran Geiszler, Phillip Walhood. The funeral is 2pm Monday, June 8, at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale with Pastor Paul Preus officiating. Visitation is 12pm to time of funeral service on Monday at Hoven Funeral Chapel. Burial is at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, rural Monango. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale.
