He grew up on a farm ¾ mile west of Guelph, ND where he also attended school. He graduated from Guelph High School with the class of 1953. As a young child, Earl was deeply influenced by his parents and with his father’s encouragement in the love of the land, Earl joined his father in farming until his father’s death in 1967. Earl worked for Andersen Farms of Guelph for 25 years and always spoke highly of Howard and Larry Andersen claiming, “They were the best folks to work for!” He cherished their friendship. While working for Andersen’s, Earl also drove school bus for Guelph and Oakes for 18 years. He retired from both in 1994 due to a farm accident. Earl continued to live on the family farm until he moved to the Oakes Good Samaritan Center in 2004. Earl was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Ellendale. Earl was known for his cheerful 10-4 and his kind and outgoing nature. He loved making someone smile with a joke or two. His passion for collecting toy tractors was evident by all who knew him. Even though Earl couldn’t play a thing, he loved music. Earl was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials may be sent to: Church of the Nazarene 112 5 St N Ellendale, ND 58436
