Dennis A. Hasz

Dennis A. Hasz, 73, Ellendale, ND died July 13, 2015 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen, SD. The funeral is 10:30am Friday, July 17 at Church of the Nazarene, Ellendale with Pastor Tim Brown officiating. Visitation is 3-7pm Thursday with a prayer service at 5:30pm all at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church. Burial is at Ellendale City Cemetery. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel. Denny was the son of proud parents, Arthur “Art” and Eva (Sprouse) Hasz. Dennis was an only child. The family resided in Ellendale where his father farmed and mother worked out of the home. After graduating from Ellendale High School he moved to Minneapolis, MN and studied accounting. With his degree, he began his employment with Land-O-Lakes in Minneapolis. Soon after that he met and married Susan “Sue” in 1963 and they resided in New Hope, MN. To this union were born three daughters, Shellie, Lauri and Kimberly. Then they moved to Morris, MN where he was a salesman and sold products to Elevators for Land-O-Lakes. After a few years on the road, he decided he wanted to farm with his father, which he loved. He took over the farm and retired in 2007. Denny died July 13, 2015 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen, SD. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always generous helping any way he could. We are so blessed to have had him as husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. We will miss him greatly. Denny is survived by his wife: Susan Hasz, Ellendale, ND; daughters: Shellie (Dean) Hovey, Dayton, MN, Lauri (Scott) Uecker, Ellendale, ND, Kim (Wade) Kemmet, Roscoe, IL; grandchildren: Evan Hovey, Jennifer Hasz, Melanie Filbert, Samantha Sydnie & Olivia Hustoft (Uecker), Taylor, Riley & Chase Kemmet, great-grandchildren: Kadince & Quinley, Hunter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Eva Hasz and infant daughter, Tamara Lee.
