Connie Mueller

Connie Diane King Mueller, age 64 of Ellendale, ND was born April 10, 1951 in Aberdeen SD to Ernest and Ardina (Dubs) King. She attended school in Ellendale and graduated from Ellendale High School in 1969. Connie married Allen L. Mueller in 1970 and they resided in Ellendale. They were blessed with a daughter, Alison Ann. While in Ellendale, Connie worked as a teacher for the Ellendale Co-operative Nursery School. In 1972 Allen and Connie moved to Minot, ND. After a brief return to Ellendale in 1975, in 1976 they returned to Minot, where Connie attended Minot State College, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 1980. She became an elementary teacher in the Minot Public School System until her illness eventually required her to quit in 1991. Connie returned to Ellendale, ND where she was able to enjoy spending time with her family and many friends. Connie died January 18, 2016 at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen, SD. Connie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and playing bells. Music was very important to her and she enjoyed sharing it with the community. Connie played flute in the Community band and was a part of Sing in Aires along with her mother. Connie loved many things, including reading, writing and playing cards and games. The community, her friends and family were a source of her happiness to her. Connie will always be remembered for her strong faith and devotion to Christ. She wanted to thank you for the prayers and for supporting her through her pain and suffering, and to remember to put God first in your life and enjoy the simple gifts of God’s love. Survivors include her daughter and son- in- law: Alison and Shane Kerska of Plymouth, MN; two brothers and sister-in-law: Ernest L. & Bonita King of Minot, ND, Donald King (special friend, Tracy Mayland) of Billings, MT; two grandchildren: Evan and Lauren Kerska; one nephew: Jordan (Faith) King and one niece: Sara King. Connie was preceded in death by her parents: Ernest and Ardina King. The funeral is 10am Saturday, January 23, at Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale with Pastor Paul Preus officiating. Visitation is 2-6pm Friday at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale and continues one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial is at Ellendale City Cemetery. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel. Memorials will be sent to Zion Lutheran Church and Prince of Peace Care Center.
