Lillie Heitmann

Lillie Heitmann, 86 of Ellendale, ND died June 12, 2016 at Prince of Peace Care Center, Ellendale. She was born January 21, 1930 to Fred and Magdelina (Henneberg) Mayer in Albion Township, ND. Lillie was baptized and confirmed at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Albion Township. She attended country school and in 1948 she graduated from Ellendale High School. On February 24, 1950, Lillie married Harley Heitmann at Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale and to this union were born four children. Lillie worked for the local dental office and the Ellendale Memorial Hospital for many years. After retirement she babysat for a few families. In October 1999 Harley died and in September 2012 Lillie moved to Prince of Peace Care Center, Ellendale. Lillie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and enjoyed gardening, baking, reading and crocheting. Survivors include her children: Susan (Tim) Robbins of Ellendale, ND, Jeff Heitmann of Ellendale, ND, Kathy Mueller of Louisburg, MN; grandchildren: Ryan, Jeremy and Rebecca Robbins and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, three brothers and three sisters. The funeral service is 10:30am Saturday, June 18, at Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale with Pastor Paul Preus officiating. Visitaiton is 2-6pm Friday at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. Burial is at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, SD. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale.
