Wayne Allen Hoffman

Wayne Allen Hoffman 51, of Harvard, IL died at his home August 29, 2016. Wayne was born July 26, 1965 to Jimmie and Janet (Ortega) Hoffman at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Fairbanks, AK. He was baptized December 26, 1966 at United Church of Christ in Fullerton, ND and confirmed October 28, 1979 at Living Christ Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights, IL. While in high school, Wayne started working at a 7/11 store. After high school he started working at different gas stations as manager. Over 20 years ago, he started at Thornton’s Gas Station, Mini Mart as their manager and worked there until the time of his death. Wayne enjoyed Nascar racing and taped all the races he wasn’t able to watch. Once every year he enjoyed attending Nascar races with his brother Paul at the Chicago racetracks. Wayne is survived by his parents, Jimmie and Carolyn Hoffman, Peoria, AZ; one brother: Paul Hoffman, Bristol, WI; one sister: Melissa Byzcynski, Cary, IL; two nephews: Bode and Taeo Byzcynski, Cary, IL; two aunts: Esther Retzlaff, Ellendale, ND, Leona Hoffman, Ellendale, ND; two uncles: Darles (Coleen) Hoffman, Evansville, WI, Leslie (Karen) Hoffman, Ellendale, ND and many cousins. Wayne was preceded in death by his mother Janet (Ortega) Hoffman, three uncles: Wesley, Clinton and Stanley Hoffman, and one aunt: Susan Hoffman. The funeral is 2pm Saturday, September 3 at Presbyterian United Methodist Church, Ellendale with Pastor Paul Henschen officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to church services. Burial is at Ellendale City Cemetery. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale.
