Mary Eve Fleming

Mary Eve (Holmes) Fleming, 63, of Forbes, ND died September 8, 2016 at her home. She was born December 8, 1952 in Seattle, WA. She was the daughter of Lester and Molly (Holsworth) Holmes. As a young child, Mary moved with her family to Forbes and was baptized there at the Presbyterian Church. In 1970 she graduated from Forbes High School. After her education she began working for a corporation in Minneapolis, MN. There, she met David Fleming and they were married May 18, 1974 in Forbes. Mary and David made their home in the Rapid City and Black Hawk, SD area for 35 years. Mary had various jobs working at various childcare facilities and also the Black Hawk school system. Later, David and Mary moved to Forbes. Mary enjoyed the Coffee Bar at the Peoples Store in Forbes, she liked flower gardening and craft sales. She is survived by her husband David Fleming of Forbes, ND; daughter: Cathy (Nathan) Morris of Havre, MT; son: Cory (Tiffany) Fleming of Rapid City, SD; sister: Sandra Post of Countryside, IL; brother: Roy Holmes of Jamestown, ND; niece: Rhiana Holmes of Jamestown, ND and many grandpets. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: John and Todd Holmes. A time of remembrance will be 7pm Sunday at the American Legion Hall, Forbes. A graveside memorial service will be 1pm Monday, September 12 at Ellendale City Cemetery with Pastor Paul Henschen officiating. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale, ND.
