Annetta May "Nettie" Fredrick

Annetta May “Nettie” Fredrick 80 of Ellendale, ND died July 1, 2017 at her home. She was born May 12, 1937 in Kulm, ND to John and Christina (Bollinger) Rost. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. Nettie attended country school near Kulm and after the Rost family moved to Ellendale in 1951 she attended Ellendale Public School. Nettie married Edwin Fredrick May 14, 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale. To this union three sons were born. Edwin died March 11, 1999. Nettie was a life member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She was an original member of the Ellendale Ambulance serving as an EMT. She was employed at the Dickey County Memorial Hospital in 1958 and continued in various positions including Surgical Technician until it closed in 1993. She was also employed as a nursing assistant at the Prince of Peace Care Center until her retirement in 2009. Nettie is survived by her sons: Arlyn (Karen) Fredrick, Mandan, ND, Jerome Fredrick, Huson, MT and Ned (Kay) Fredrick, Westport, SD; six grandchildren: Colin (Tara), Kirsten, Holly, Christina, Isaac and Lucas; one great granddaughter: Hadley Lou; sister Alice Rost, Ellendale, ND; four sisters-in-law: Lillian Rost, Anamoose, ND, Elsie (Bob) Titus, Ludden, ND, Hilda Mogck, Bellingham, WA, Judy Fredrick, Britton, SD; one brother-in-law: Emil (Kathi) Frederick, Britton, SD and numerous nieces and nephews. Nettie was preceded in death by her husband Edwin, parents, two brothers Art and Ervin and one sister Hertha. Funeral service is 10:30am Friday, July 7 at Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale with Pastor Paul Preus officiating. Visitation is 2-6pm Thursday at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale and continuing one hour prior to services at the church Friday. Burial is at Ellendale City Cemetery. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel.
