Rosemary "Rosie" Mueller

Rosemary “Rosie” Mueller, age 89, of Ellendale, ND passed away peacefully at Prince of Peace Care Center, Ellendale on January 8, 2018. A private family service will be held at a later date. Memorials preferred to The American Legion Post #137 of Ellendale, ND in lieu of flowers. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. Rosie was born on the family farm near Monango, ND on November 11, 1928 to Frank and Freda Davis. Rosie graduated from Ellendale, ND High School in 1946. Rosie married Louie Schmidt in 1947. They lived in Ellendale, ND and raised 3 children: Mary Ellen, Roberta (Bert) and Robert (Bob). In 1965, she graduated from Stewart’s School of Hair Styling in Aberdeen, SD which led to a successful career as an instructor and stylist in cosmetology. Rosie married Clarence “Shorty” Mueller of Boise, Idaho in 1972 and resided in Boise until 1981 when they moved back to Ellendale to help care for their parents. In 1998, Rosie relocated to Olivia, MN to be closer to her daughter and family. She enjoyed shopping trips to Willmar, time at the Legion and trips back home to Ellendale. When Rosie’s health started deteriorating in 2016, she requested to return to Ellendale. Rosie loved to visit and had a passion for politics, North Dakota, and her family. Rosie is survived by her children Mary Ellen Hughes of Spring Park, MN, Bert Wasierski of Lakeville, MN and Bob (Mary) Schmidt of Ellendale, ND; grandchildren, Dawn (Dave) Arnevik, Cali (Jason) Harrier, Tara (Jason) Dunning, Mandy (Andy) Tepfer, Dave (Nikki) Wasierski, Melinda (Dan) Nation, and Jim (Kelly) Schmidt; 15 Great grandchildren; sister Ellen Halonen; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, first and second husbands and her great grandson Matthew Nation.
