William Rutschke

William “Bill” Rutschke, 93 of Ellendale, ND was born June 25, 1917, in Spring Valley Township, Dickey County near Kulm, ND. He was the son of Johann and Julia (Braun) Rutschke. Bill was the fourth of six children, four boys then two girls. He grew up on the family farm and received his education in Spring Valley Township school. In 1926 when Bill was 9 years old his father, Johann Rutschke, died. After Bills education, he remained on the farm with his mother until her death in 1971. Bill later retired from the farm and moved to Forbes, ND. Later, Bill moved to Evergreen Place in Ellendale and in 2004 he moved to Prince of Peace Care Center, Ellendale, where he resided until his death September 24, 2010. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Albert, Theodore and David; two sisters: Amalia and Edna Potter. He is survived by six nephews and two nieces. A memorial service will be 2pm Thursday, September 30, 2010, at Peace Chapel at Prince of Peace Care Center with Pastor Tim Brown officiating. Burial will be at Ellendale City Cemetery.
