Harvey D. Vasvick

Harvey D. Vasvick, 79 of Ellendale, ND died November 20, 2010 at his home. Visitation is 2-8pm Tuesday with a prayer service at 7pm at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. The funeral service is 11am Wednesday at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Ellendale with Pastor Galen Sylvester officiating. Burial is at Ellendale City Cemetery. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. Harvey Donald Vasvick, 79 of Ellendale, ND was born March 29, 1931, on the family farm in Van Meter Township, Dickey County, ND. Harvey was the son of Sever and Marie (Johnson) Vasvick. He attended Van Meter School, started farming at the early age of 15 and continued farming until he retired in 1994. On June 19, 1949, Harvey was united in marriage to Vivian Heil-Pahl. Vivian died in December 1994. Harvey married Judy Meidinger in August 1995 and they made their home in Ellendale, ND. Harvey enjoyed life to the fullest including farming, hunting, playing cards, eating sweets, coffee hour and visiting with friends, neighbors and relatives. His family meant the world to him. Harvey died peacefully on Saturday, November 20, 2010, at his home in Ellendale. Harvey is survived by his wife: Judy Vasvick, Ellendale, ND; one son: Darrell (Susan) Vasvick, Fargo, ND; one daughter: Cheryl (John) Hokana, Oakes, ND; one step-son: Elliot Meidinger, Jamestown, ND; four grandchildren: Justin Vasvick, Christopher (Amy) Vasvick, Cole (Holly) Hokana, Charissa (Jared) Stadlman; three great grandchildren: Sage Vasvick, Braxton Hokana, Ashton Biesterfeld; one step-grandchild: Jocelyn Meidinger; two great step-grandchildren: Tyler and Sidney Stadlman; one brother: Leonard Vasvick and many nieces and nephews. Harvey is preceded in death by his parents: Sever and Marie; wife: Vivian and sisters: Lila White, Doris Hill and Dorothy Vasvick.
