Marsha M. Beckius

Marsha M. Beckius, 57 of Ellendale, ND died December 4, 2010, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen, SD. Visitation is 2-8pm with a prayer service at 7pm Thursday all at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. The funeral service is 10:30am Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale with Pastor Tyson Labuhn officiating. Burial will be at Albion Albion Christ Lutheran Cemetery, rural Ellendale. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. Marsha M. Beckius, 57 of Ellendale, ND was born June 9, 1953, at Ellendale Hospital, Ellendale, ND. She was the daughter of Verland and Nadine (Jury) Zinter. In 1971 Marsha graduated from high school in Farmington, MN. Due to her love for helping people she was inspired to become a nurse and graduated in 1973 from nursing school in Redwing, MN. Marsha was working at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO where she met John Beckius. On June 21, 1980, Marsha married John in Ellendale and moved to Dickey County, ND. They settled outside of Ellendale in 1989 where she quickly immersed herself and family into the community through various employers, and organizations. In 1994 Marsha began employment with Southeast Medical Center in Ellendale and was awarded the Employee of the Year in 2001. Marsha died December 4, 2010, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen, SD. Marsha was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ellendale where she actively served on the Board of Education and various committees within the church. She served as secretary for the Albion Church Cemetery board for many years. She touched the lives of so many people through her employment and involvement in the community. She enjoyed quilting, genealogy, gardening, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and family. She selflessly devoted her life to her faith, family, friends, community and her profession. She was the keeper of the family tales; the moderator, helping hand and listening ear for many. Grateful to have shared in her life is her husband: John Beckius, Ellendale, ND; two sons: Mike (Kristina) Zinter, Ellendale, ND, Tim Beckius, Concord, CA; one daughter: Amy (Renny) Johnson, Marshall, MN; grandchildren Tristan, Owen, Liana, Quinten, Seraphim, Emily, Ella, and RyAnn Montana; one brother: Russ (Vicki) Zinter, Ellendale, ND; two sisters: Rhonda (Mike) Rademacher, Farmington, MN, Cheryl (Kim) Brokaw, Ellendale, ND; her mother: Nadine Zinter, Ellendale, ND and numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Verland Zinter and one nephew, Brad Brokaw.
