Alan Patrick Falk, 80, Ellendale, ND, died March 5, 2019 in Memphis, TN. Alan was born May 14, 1938 to Henry and Marcella (Allain) Falk. He was raised in Lidgerwood, ND, was a graduate of Lidgerwood High School, attended North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND. He was drafted into the US Army in 1957, serving until 1959. He received an honorable discharge and became active in the American Legion. Alan married Inez M. Lammert of Hazelton, ND on October 15, 1960. They raised four children, living most of their years in Ellendale, Linton and Fargo. Alan worked briefly in road construction and primarily in positions with the ASCS at offices in Ellendale and Fargo, retiring with about 30 years of service. Alan loved to travel, both short and long trips to visit family and friends, always driving as his choice of transportation. He loved to read, enjoyed working crossword and sudoku puzzles. He was an avid sports fan, attending sports events of the grandchildren, and was a fan of the Twins, Bison, Fargo Force and Vikings. Alan is survived by his four children: David (Lisha) Falk, Lafayette, LA; Dennis (Sandra) Falk, Millington, TN; Darla (Tim) Martin, Forbes, ND; and Darrin (Karen) Falk, Burrien, WA; four grandchildren: Jared (Brandy) Falk, Memphis, TN; Tanner (Taryn) Martin, Ellendale, ND; Justin Falk, Millington, TN; Meg (Tanner) White, Aberdeen, SD; and four great grandchildren: Easton Falk, Kian White, Tavin Martin and Korby White; one sister Carole Orth, Fargo, ND; in-laws: Donnie (Marcie) Lammert, Moffit, ND; Charles Schnabel, Ashley, ND; Jean Ohlhauser, Linton, ND; Susie (Neil) Weber, Linton, ND; Lila (Ted) Humann, Bismarck, ND/AZ; Sharon Caruso, Linton, ND; Catherine Lammert, Linton, ND; and step sister-in-law Alice Nord, Hot Springs, SD, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife Inez, his infant daughter Bobbie Jo, parents Henry and Marcella Falk, brothers-in-law, Alex Ohlhauser, John Caruso, Randolph Orth and Lawrence Lammert, sister-in-law Nancy Schnabel, father and mother-in-law William Lammert and Alma Lammert Jackson, and step father-in-law Paul Jackson. A memorial service with Military Honors will be 11am Saturday, March 16, at St. Helena’s Catholic Church, Ellendale with Father Jason Asselin Celebrant. Visitation is one hour prior to the church service. Burial will be held in the spring at St. Helena’s Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale.
