On March 18, 2022, Audrey Lynne (Hassett) Radermacher, 67, of Ellendale, ND, passed away peacefully in her home while under hospice care and surrounded by her closest family and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022, from 4-6 p.m. at Hoven Funeral Chapel in Ellendale, followed by a gathering at the Ellendale American Legion. Audrey was born in Devils Lake, ND, on March 28, 1954, to James Roy Hassett and Jean (Sparks) Hassett. Audrey was one of ten children (which included five girls and five boys) born of the union. Audrey grew up in Devils Lake, which is where she met Michael Radermacher, while he was there on guard duty. The two later married and had three daughters, Sabrina, Carrie and Kimberly. Audrey’s lifetime passion was as a CNA, where she enjoyed taking care of the elderly, including her own father, James, while in Devils Lake. She went on to work as a CNA in the State of Washington and ultimately returned to Prince of Peace Care Center in Ellendale, from where she retired in 2020 after being there 14 years. Her greatest joys included spending time with her furry companions; enjoying laughs with her friends, especially her best friend Andra, at the American Legion; and visiting with her children, grandchildren, sisters and family whenever she could. Audrey grew especially close to her sister, Shelley, who selflessly and lovingly provided end of life care for her. Audrey will always be remembered for her quick wit, sarcastic sense of humor and infectious laugh. Audrey is survived by her faithful dachshund, Arnie; her daughters, Sabrina (Jason) Hildenbrand, Carrie (Wyatt) Ellingson and Kimberly (Lon) Lagodinski; grandchildren, Rachelle and Dustin (Nataye), Westen and Ethan, and Parker and Keaton; great grandchildren, Declan and Ryleigh, and soon to be baby Hildenbrand; sisters, Sandra (John) Horton, Phyllis Hassett, Shelley (Bob) Brackemyer, and Janine (Paul) Kalinowski; brothers, Byron Hassett, Lee (Sandra) Hassett, and Michael Hassett; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, all of whom she cherished and who were blessed to be a part of her life. Audrey is preceded in death by her father, James; her mother, Jean; her brothers, Kevin (who always held a special place in her heart) and Roy; her mom’s twin sister and aunt, Joan, and numerous other aunts and uncles; her nephew, Christopher Sherland; and her beloved dachshund companions, Cooper, Buster and Shandy. Per the family request, we will not be live streaming on March 21.
