Barbara Joyce Heine

Barbara Joyce Heine, 86, of Ellendale, ND died April 27, 2022 at her home in Ellendale. She was born March 19, 1936 in Aberdeen, SD. Barbara was the daughter of Ivan and Violet (Kopelman) Oster. Barbara was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Aberdeen, SD. She attended and graduated from school in Aberdeen in 1954.Barbara married Orryn on June 6, 1954 at Zion Lutheran Church, Aberdeen, SD. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ellendale and very much enjoyed being a member of the choir and handbell choir for many years. She was proud to serve on the Ellendale school board from 1976 to 1988. Barbara enjoyed reading and visiting with her many friends and family. Grateful to have shared in her life are her two sons: David (Brenda) Heine of Ellendale, ND and their children Amanda Heine of Fargo, ND, Adam Heine of St. Paul, MN; John (Deb) Heine of Frederick, SD and their children Matthew (Shayla) Heine and their child Chance of Ludden, ND, Wyatt (Mariah) Heine and their child Oliver of Frederick, SD; two daughters: Debora Heine of Aberdeen, SD, Lisa (Dan) Barton of Ellendale, ND and their children Stefani (Jarrod) Holmgren and their children Connell and Murphy of Eden Prairie, MN; Brian Sumption of Minneapolis, MN; Nathan Sumption of Frederick, SD; Zachary (Kaitlyn Schimke) Sumption of Frederick, SD; four step-grandchildren and sister-in-law: Jean Heine of Lakeville, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers-in-law: Walter Heine and Robert Kendall and one sister-in-law: Angela Kendall. The funeral is 10:30am Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale with Pastor Paul Preus officiating. Visitation is 2-6pm Tuesday at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale and continues one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
