Brunno Kinzler

August 21, 1942 — November 10, 2021

Brunno Kinzler was born on August 21, 1942, in Rehfelde, West Prussia, to John and Marie (Vossler) Kinzler. In 1951, Brunno came to America through Ellis Island with his parents and two brothers, Bert & Chuck. They stayed with a sponsor family in La Unión, New Mexico, before joining relatives in North Dakota. Brunno graduated from Monango High School in 1961 and subsequently from Ellendale State Teachers College in 1964. He proudly became a U.S. citizen on November 16, 1965 at the age of 23. On June 5, 1964, he married Sharon Kay Giesler in Kulm, ND. In 1965, they had their first child, David, and moved to Ashley, ND, where Brunno spent three years teaching high school science. During this time, their son, Kevin, was born. In the spring of 1968, they moved to Monango, ND, where they farmed and started a dairy operation. And much, much, later in life, they had a daughter named Melissa. Brunno and Sharon loved to travel over the years. They spent time enjoying the beauty of the United States and Germany before Sharon became ill. Sharon passed on August 15, 2013. On July 27, 2018, Brunno married Debra Koschney at Ellendale, ND. They enjoyed traveling to Texas in the winter months. When Brunno wasn’t busy farming, he enjoyed being a part of his community. He spent 35 years on the Dickey Rural Telephone Board, which he enjoyed immensely. He also spent time on the Monango School Board, Keystone Township Board, as well as many other boards. Throughout his life he made many great friends along the way. Brunno was a teacher, board member, farmer, loving husband, father, grandpa, and a great grandpa.
