Eddie Glen Bland

Eddie Glen Bland, "Glen" of Ellendale, ND died June 4, 2026 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen, SD.

He left us all to soon at the young age of 75. From his home in Ellendale where he has lived for many years.

Glen was born January 19, 1951 to Bonnie Jo and Edward Bland. He lived in Denton, Texas all his life and worked for the city of Denton and then worked for the Dex Company in Dallas, Texas with his uncle.

In 1971 he left Texas and moved to Wichita, Kansas and worked as a heavy mechanic when he met Mary and they married and raised 4 children and divorced after 37 years but remained best of friends.

Glen is known for having his head under the hood of a vehicle working on something helping someone out. Till his health made him put his tools down. But he was also happy wetting a hook by a creek catching a big blue cat fish once in a while.

He was a kind and good man. He would do anything for you, all you had to do was ask. He would give you the shirt off his back if you didn't have one. It’s too bad more people didn't get to know him better when he was here among us.

Glen is survived by his ex-wife: Mary Bland of Ellendale, ND; two daughters: Tamara (Jason) Stichka of Aberdeen, SD, Tabitha Wikle and her family of Topeka, Kansas; two sons: Eddy of Alabama, Glen Everett of Kansas; two lovely granddaughters: Lilith and Abigail Stichka both of Aberdeen, SD; one sister-in-law: Judy Benbrook of Wichita, Kansas; aunt: Wanda Carter and cousin: Jessie Carter both of Valley View Texas and cousin: Pammy Carter of Ponder Texas.

Glen was preceded in death by his father Edward Bland; uncle: Jackie Carter, cousins: Zelda Carter, Marie Carter, Georgia Carter and brother in-law: Gerry Benbrook.

A memorial service will be held 11am Saturday, July 18, 2026 at New Life Assembly of God Church, Ellendale. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale.
