Edward R. Haase

Edward R. Haase, 90 of Fullerton, ND died June 20, 2024 at Benedictine Living Community, Ellendale. He was born March 1, 1934 to Gustav and Helena (Siewert) Haase on their farmsite located in the Merricourt foothills. Ed was educated through the 8th grade at a country school near his family farm. He farmed with his father until joining the United States Army where he was a military policeman serving in France. After completing his service, he worked construction and later began his trucking business, but his true love was farming. On September 14, 1960 Ed married Connie Larson in Aberdeen, SD. Together they had three sons; Ronald, Robert, and Martin. They settled in the Fullerton, ND area where he raised beef cattle and grain. Ed and Connie were married 20 years before divorcing. He married Beverly Hoffman in August of 1991 and continued working on the farm until April 2024 when he entered Benedictine Living Community, Ellendale. He was a 50-year member of the American Legion Post #36. He enjoyed farming, playing pool, pinochle and fishing. He was an avid baseball fan, playing on small farm teams in his younger years and watching his beloved Minnesota Twins religiously. Ed is survived by his sons: Ronald (Juella) Haase, Fullerton, ND, Robert (Susan) Haase, Lakeville, MN, Martin (Cari) Haase, Aberdeen, SD; Grandchildren: Lauren (Justin) Kortz, Sarah Haase, Erin Haase, Isaac Haase, Amy (Ben) Rohl, Brooke Boehm, Lacey (Josh) Nicolaisen, Brandon (Stephanie) Boehm; Great Grandchildren: Ashton Haase, Wes and Nora Nicolaisen; One brother: Harold (Mary) Haase; Two sisters: Vi Nell and Leah Nicholson; Stepchildren: Donald (Debbie) Hoffman Jr., Mark (Judy) Hoffman, Glenn (Kelly) Hoffman, Kent (Danae) Hoffman, Todd (Christi) Hoffman, Craig Hoffman, and Wendi (Chris) Weseloh. Numerous step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, ex-wife Connie, wife Beverly, brothers Leonard and Roland, and one sister, Agnes Raugutt.

A memorial service is 2pm Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale with Marilou Uecker officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home.
