Gordon R. Seefried

Gordon R. Seefried, 79, Ellendale, ND died February 24, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center, Fargo. Gordon was born June 8, 1939 in Fredonia, ND to David and Emma (Bader) Seefried. He attended country school later earning his GED. After his schooling he worked on the family farm and in 1959 he joined the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He was honorably discharged in February 1961. He returned to ND he began working for Zimmerman Implement (John Deere) in Ellendale. Gordon married Doris Eisenbeis on July 2, 1961 in Wishek, ND. They made their home in Ellendale and he continued working for Zimmerman’s. After Zimmerman’s closed, he began working on his own as an independent mechanic. Gordon enjoyed his work, farming, fishing and spending time with family. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale and the American Legion Herman-Schlinker Post #137. Gordon is survived by his wife: Doris Seefried, Ellendale, ND; sons: Robert Seefried, Irving, TX, Scott Seefried, Fargo, ND; daughter: Kim (Mike) Burrer, Pierre, SD; grandchildren: Colin and Jami Burrer; great-grandchildren: Travis and Bryson Archambeau; brother: Howard Seefried, Jamestown, ND; sister: Darlene Lickfelt, Aberdeen, SD. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Roger, Clarence, Daniel and sister: Gladys Michaelsohn. The funeral is 11am Saturday, March 2 at Zion Lutheran Church, Ellendale with Pastor Paul Preus officiating. Visitation is 2-6:30pm and prayer service at 5:30pm Friday all at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale. Visitation continues one hour prior to church services Saturday. Burial is at North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Military Honors will be in Ellendale. Arrangements by Hoven Funeral Chapel.
