Merle Edna Kosel

Merle (Meri) Edna Kosel age 63, died Friday July 5th2019 at Avera St. Lukes in Aberdeen, SD. Merle was born in Mitchel, SD on November 13, 1955 to Walter and Wanda (Flood) Nelson. Merle received her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1993 at Presentation College in Aberdeen. She then worked in long term care facilities in Oakes, ND, Bristol, SD and at Prince of Peace Care Center in Ellendale, ND where she so loved and cherished the residents and her coworkers. Merle loved to crochet, and do all kinds of crafts and sewing projects. She also loved to go camping and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She married Russell Kosel on June 22, 2002. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Russell Kosel, her children are Jeramey (Catherine) Bullock of Texas, Miki (Shane) Peterson of Ellendale, Patrick (Chonnie) Bullock of South Dakota, Tanya (Jason) Pies of Ellendale, Kristine (Chris) Cantey of Minnesota, and Michael (Loretta) Bullock of Ellendale. She also has 18 grandchildren, Steven and Mathew Bullock, Sanaa, Cole and Clayton Peterson, Jonathan, Gabriel, Nathaniel and Saphyre Bullock, Makayla, Jackson and Noah Pies, Aiden, Joshua, and Bryce Cantey, and Aria, Kenneth and Seth Bullock, her sisters, Carol (Jan) Raabe, Ione (Jim) Jones, Alice (George) Nelson-Lindall, and her brothers, Boyd (Brenda) Nelson, and Robert (Pam) Nelson. Brother-in-law, Todd (Loni) Kosel, and sisters-in-law, Carmen (Michael) Devine and Holly Kosel-Carr. Merle was proceeded in death by her parents, Walter and Wanda Nelson and her in-laws, Kenny and Betty Kosel. There will be visitation at Hoven Funeral Chapel, Ellendale on July 9th, 2019 from 2pm-6:30pm with a prayer service at 5:30pm. The Funeral will be 10:30am on July 10th, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church in Ellendale with Pastor Paul Preus officiating. Burial will be at Ellendale City Cemetery. All funeral arrangements have been made with Hoven Funeral Chapel.
