She was the youngest of four children, having two sisters, Vivian and Irene, and a brother, Laurence. Nona was baptized and confirmed at her family’s neighborhood church, Aurdal Lutheran near Forbes, ND. In 1956, Eddie and Nona welcomed a daughter, Pamela Kae, and 1958, a son James Warren. In 1960, the family moved onto their own farm on the State Line. Nona was the bookkeeping brains behind the hog, cattle & small grains operation as they expanded Brauer Farms over the next six decades. The Brauers enjoyed fishing, family vacations and traveling in their motorhome during their 63 year marriage. They were members of the Presbyterian-United Methodist Church of Ellendale, where Nona was very involved in many capacities.
